Freedom States Alliance - Reason for Gun Control
I kid you not, Freedom States Alliance uses this old XBox commercial to justify a ban on concealed carry law. It is a video game commercial, where everyone suddenly starts to shoot pretend, and it is meant to show how bad the concept of concealed carry would be in a real world.

FSA's argument: When President Obama came to Portsmouth, New Hampshire on Aug. 11th to talk about his health care plan, one protester, William Kostric of Mancester, arrived openly carrying a loaded 9mm handgun in a holster strapped to the outside of his pant leg (Tony's note: there is no law against doing this in New Hampshire. They have no restrictions on concealed or open carry. Their state motto is "Live Free or Die" for crying out loud.) — and holding a sign that read “It is Time to Water the Tree of Liberty.” That is a quote from Thomas Jefferson: "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is it’s natural manure." ATTRIBUTION: THOMAS JEFFERSON, letter to William Stephens Smith, November 13, 1787.—The Papers of Thomas Jefferson, ed. Julian P. Boyd, vol. 12, p. 356 (1955).

During an interview on MSNBC with Chris Matthews, Kostric said that a "firearm is a defensive tool." He also had the audacity to suggest that if everyone in the room was armed with a gun listening to the President speak, the event would have safer.

This is without a doubt the embodiment of the gun lobby's dangerous and irresponsible myth: that an "armed society is a polite society."

But this old XBOX advertisement that was banned several years ago shows the complete opposite. Depending on your worldview and experience, viewers will undoubtedly have many different responses to this video. But we think it makes a dramatic and cogent argument for keeping all guns -- concealed or openly carried -- out of our public spaces.
