Camp Fish - Long Distance Archery 101
Fish Lake, MN
June 16, 2007

Drew got a new bow, and demonstrated his skills at 70 yards, on a target the size of an elk's vitals.
You can see the blurred arrow at the right of the frame. Note the pretty flat trajectory for this seriously long shot. He shot ten arrows and missed the small target block just ONCE! Pretty impressive. You have to see it in person to realize just how far of an archery shot it really is.
Johnny on Al's new Polaris. Al and Jim in the background, spectating the arrow shot from mid-field.
Drew and Bob, starting the search for the one arrow that missed the target. We never did find it.
Drew and Bob, moved up to a 40-yard shot so I could try to take better "arrow in flight" photos.
Bob was on the laser rangefinder, to get an accurate shooting position for Drew's calibrated sights.
The in-flight arrow is visible at about 2/3rds along its flight path, just right of the center aiming point. The angle of my photo makes it look like a wide-right shot, but it came in right in the circle.
About 0.2 seconds after arrow release...
