Deer Camp 2003 - Fish Lake - "Camp Fish"
In eight days (with a couple days taken off for work or other commitments), our camp took a total of six bucks and nine does. Bucks were taken by Gary (9-point, 247 lbs), Ben (8-point, about 190 lbs), Tony (7-point, about 190 lbs), Mark (10-point, about 190 lbs), Drew (8-point, about 190 lbs), John (2-point spike...thought it was a doe in the bad light), and Noah's (8-pointer, 180-lbs), taken on the last day of the MN season...see those photos near the end.

Gary's "Warren Sapp" deer. It was 247-lbs. dressed. Wow. Gary's 9-pointer was taken at 8am on opening day, along with a nice doe minutes later.
Gary's deer set a new 22-year Camp Fish Deer Camp record for heaviest deer taken. Gary's big buck before going up the pole.
The blonde hooves of Gary's buck. Ben's 8-pointer was taken a twilight in the evening on opening day.
Ben shot this buck from about 250 yards, and possibly more. Nice buck, Ben.
Tony's 7-point buck, taken from 450 yards, 20-feet high in a tree stand. I got low on the stand and shot off the rail. This buck took one shot in the spine to anchor it, and a 2nd shot at just over 1 Mil elevation in the neck to put it down.
Tony does not recommend shooting a deer from 450 yards unless you have had lots of practice. The deer pole on Sunday night. Mark's buck is the 4th buck going up on the winch.
Noah and Drew, who are holding out for bigger trophies as of Sunday. Saturday night sunset.

A big ol' pile of female venison... Drew cutting the deer from the poles.

Loading the does into the truck. Nine does fill a truck rather nicely.
Kenny stacking 'em like cordwood. Greg and Kenny making adjustments.
Some rather smallish but fine does. Admiring the load.
Drew and Josh bring in the trailer for the bucks. This shows the fog visibility level very well. Drew hooked up the cable winch to take down the bucks. (enhanced)

The venison wagon takes form. A whole lot of deer. Camp record.

Hooves...with a great sun flare. Noah ends the season on the last day with this fine 180-lb. 8-pointer!
