645 PRO TL CAMERA FEATURES

The 6x4.5 format is nearly 3 times larger than ordinary 35mm format. 645, as it is commonly referred to, is an ideal format because it enlarges to standard 8x10" paper size with minimal cropping, thereby using the entire image area. Its useable area is identical to that of a 2-1/4" square negative, when used for normal rectangular print dimensions, thereby eliminating wasted film, increasing frames per-roll from 12 to 15 exposures, and facilitating precision, full frame composition in the viewfinder.

Ergonomic Design
Fitted with Pro AE Finder and SV Power Drive, the Mamiya 645 Pro TL handles as fast and as easily as a 35mm SLR. Versatile interchangeable lenses, finders, focusing screens and film magazines, Polaroid back and pre-loadable film inserts, complete the modular system.

Easy Mirror Lock-Up and Multi-Exposure
The 645 Pro TL body also features multiple exposure and mirror lock-up as standard features with a flip of a single switch - no complicated removal of film backs or need for double cable releases.

A/S Matrix Metering
The optional 645 Pro AE Prism Finder (included in the 645 Pro TL Pro Value Pack) with Mamiya's exclusive A/S Matrix Metering System offers spot, average or matrix measurement in manual mode or aperture priority auto. Electronically timed shutter speed accuracy in 1/6 step in auto mode, and +/- 1/3 step exposure compensation for fast and precise bracketing. With Mamiya's leaf shutter lenses linked through the Power Drive Grip II, the A/S Matrix Meter reads out the correct shutter speed required for perfect fill flash exposure.

TTL/OTF Flash Automation with the 645 Pro TL body
The 645 Pro TL body offers TTL/OTF ( through-the-lens / Off-the-film) flash automation. When coupled with a special connector to TTL capable flashes such as many MetzTM brand models, a special flash sensor in the 645 Pro TL body reads the flash reflecting off the film at the moment of exposure, and automatically adjusts the flash output to the selected f/stop. The TTL/OTF flash is ideal for wedding photographers, macro work, or when using filters for automatic flash exposure compensation.

645 Pro TL - The Ideal Platform for Digital Imaging
If your plans include moving towards digital imaging, you will find Mamiya to be your ideal camera platform. Mamiya has always been recognized as the leader for providing a solid front-end for all brands of digital backs. In fact, manufacturers of digital backs have come to rely on what traditional Mamiya users have often taken for granted. There are many features that make the Mamiya 645 Pro TL perfect for the task. For example, the 645 Pro has a secure locking mount system that is solid enough to hold even the heaviest of digital camera backs. A modern, and flexible electromechanical system that allows for the proper integration of remote triggering, winding, and shutter timing - a must for digital backs. The Mamiya 645 Pro also features a range of lenses from 24mm to 500mm APO, including two convenient zooms, a macro, plus an extensive bellows system for close-up photography for up to 4x magnification

Dual Shutter Capability with Leaf Shutter Lenses
The 645 Series offers three 645 N/L leaf shutter lenses in the most popular 55mm, 80mm and 150mm focal length for high synch speeds to 1/500 second. This is very desirable for outdoor fill-flash photography.

These lenses allow flash synchronization at all speeds from 4 seconds to 1/60 with the camera focal plane shutter and 1/30 to1/500 second, plus T with the lens shutter, allowing mixing of flash and ambient light exposure for outdoor fashion, portrait and wedding photography as well as complex studio situations. They also feature micro motors for instant cocking when linked to the Power Drive Grip II. In this set-up, the body focal plane shutter is also set to default mode of 1/8 second to work in tandem with the lens shutter.

Instant Return Mirror
Film advance, shutter cocking and instant mirror return are accomplished with a fast, single wind of the folding rapid advance crank.

Motor Drive Grips
Motor Drive Grips are part of the modular design of the 645 Pro body and add to the comfort and speed of operation. Optional Power Drive Grip II (WG401) allows continuous or single frame advance or remote control operation at 1.5 frame per second, without the need to own a second motor-integrated camera body. The Power Drive Grip II also links with 645 Series leaf shutter lenses for instant cocking. The SV Power Drive Grip (WG 402) is smaller and lighter than the Power Drive Grip II, but does not cock leaf shutter lenses automatically, and must be removed for multiple exposures.

Interchangeable Film Backs and Magazines
Multi-purpose, Multi-format Interchangeable Film Magazine Capability Select from 6x4.5cm 15 exposure 120, or 30 exposure 220 film magazines, or standard 35mm format magazine, to switch from color, to black and white, to 35mm transparency film in seconds. The 35mm Magazine comes with 13x36 panoramic adapter and focusing screen for 645 and 35mm formats. Or use Polaroid Instant Proofs with the interchangeable Polaroid back. All Mamiya Film Magazines feature handy dark slide storage pockets for added safety and convenience on-location.

Electronic Interface with Auto Indexing For all Lenses and Film Magazines
Each 645 film magazine and Polaroid Back features an auto-indexing ISO film speed dial, integrating information with any 645 Pro or SV metering finder. Each 645 Series lens also keys in maximum aperture for total exposure interface information. Fast and foolproof operation eliminates the need to manually set film speed and maximum aperture when changing lenses or magazines.

Interchangeable Focusing Screens
Select from factory designed bright focusing screens including grid screens for product photography or architecture, precision microprism, or split image. A split/microprism combination screen is standard.
