1993 Trip To Peru
We went to Iquitos, then by boat to Yanamono Village down-river on the Amazon to build a hospital clinic and sleep area for the families of patients. My father and I smuggled in solar power panels and electrical equipment through Peru customs and gave the clinic power after Earl installed all the equipment and I mostly watched. My biggest claim-to-fame of the clinic construction was the building of a floating dock for patients, built with the help of a local man and his 8-year-old son. It was built with massive teak logs. Then we flew to Cuzco 8 days later to see the Andes of Peru.
I just came up with the bright idea of projecting these images on the wall and taking 2 second exposures of the image with my Canon camera. I shot all the below images, so I will keep swapping them out with the new digital images. The resolution is MUCH better this way.

Tony and Earl. Earl didn't really lose his right leg on this trip...but it looks like he is an amputee. Earl taught me a lot of carpentry and electrical on this trip.

The walls of Sacsaywoman, west of Cuzco. These walls have withstood contant seismic activity for Millenia, and are still totally intact. The crew at Sacsaywoman, west of Cuzco. This was apparently a place of baby llama cult worship for the ancient Inca culture, about 4000 years ago. There were obvious windows to the stars for star events, as well. See high res version

Tony on the west side of Macchu Pichu, on the famous Inca Trail. This structure was built at least 500 years ago. Nice bridge, eh? It is a 500-foot drop if it fails. KBJR Cameraman Mark Hotz (sp?) takes me up on my dare and walks out on the sketchy Inca Trail bridge 500 feet above the deck, with a $50,000 Beta camera. Way to go Mark!
High view of the Inca Trail from previous photos. In hindsight, at least we would have hit tops of trees about 100 feet down to start to break our fall if those timbers failed...heh heh. The back of the Inca Trail from the perspective of the sketchy bridge. Shari Jauss is in the foreground, and Mark Hotz is behind her.
