Holding Some Little Bass Nibblers

September 1986 or thereabouts...
On the first night of this camping/fishing
trip, Dean accidentally kicked over my very sharp
double-edged boot knife that was on the log I was sitting
on, and stepped right onto the blade. It impaled right
through his foot, out the top of his shoe. We had to abandon
camp and limp/hike through three miles of swampy trail
to get to my vehicle and get Deano to the hospital. He
was very lucky that it turned out okay. The ER doctor
was not impressed with the mud that was impacted through
the wound from the hike out. Deano enjoyed a water-jet
cleaning of the wound before it was stitched. |
