Stacking our rope in Needles, South Dakota
This is right after my infamous first lead
climb up the "Bloody Spire" that is just out
of the picture to Matt's left. I had no idea what I was
doing, and I was getting advice from the ground from a
guy who was a famously bad climber named Marvin Zimski.
I should have died, but incredibly I never fell.
There is another photo below, too. I call
it "South Dakota Contraband..."
