WESTERN HEMISPHERE This image is a true-color composite of images and information gathered during months of observation. To eliminate cloud cover and sun glare, the Earth's surface was surveyed at regular intervals.	EASTERN HEMISPHERE The lights from cities around the world were aggregated over nine months and are visible in the darkened areas of the photos.
