I scored a 260 - 4X, and captured a bronze medal. (Silver medal on right is from the Garand NM)

Arrival at Cleveland airport. Waiting to figure out how to stuff all of our gear into our Blazer. We didn't do it. Same thing...we eventually went through three rental vehicle companies to come up with a Buick Silhouette which fit all of our gear. Lunch in Sandusky, Ohio, at an Irish Pub. Good burgers and good beers in a scary little part of a dead and/or dying town.
Sandusky's little claim to fame part of the harbor and the docks. I ate my wildly good lunch first and took photos like this when the Marden's were still inhaling theirs. A rare reflection photo of the "team photo man."
At the CMP HQ inside Camp Perry, doing preliminary checks on weapons and leasing weapons that we ended up buying. John in line at the leasing desk. The armorer at the right tricked out cherry-picked rifles for our crew later on in the weekend. Our first group meeting with the Garand Collectors Association.
John, Mike and Kristof looking as serious as they needed to be at the first GCA meeting. Serious advice being dished out for the following morning's match. He said, "Shoot at your target, even before it appears!" I think Steve is saluting by default because of sunshine... A nice sunset during our GCA meeting. "Shoot before your target appears was the mantra that we heard."
A massively magical sunset over the entire view of the ranges. A better view of the sunset. It was like God saying, "Hi!" We found Mike "Montana" Bennett later that night, right next door.
Mike had a nice flag that we strung between our huts. Morning at the Springfield Match range. Kristof and Steve after they registered and picked up their issued ammunition.
Kristof and Steve after they registered and picked up their issued ammunition. Looking down the line. Checking to see if anyone else shoots before targets appear. John watching a relay before ours.
More equipment assembly. Tony standing on the ready line, looking relaxed. Tony getting rigged up for the first stage "prone slow fire" on the Springfield Match.
John having fun manning my Nikon spotting scope for scoring. A view down the line of competitors. Kristof, Steve and John double checking systems for the relay change.
John and Steve checking score from the previous match. Tony practicing the Standing Off-Hand Slow Fire Stage. Tony and Steve taking breaks between practice rifle mounts and dry-fires.
Tony and Steve practicing again before the "load and fire" call. Note how Tony is leaning into his coat for support. Tony and Steve practicing again before the "load and fire" call. John, hamming it for the camera, and Kristof doing proscribed stretches.
John firing slow fire. John firing slow fire. It is called "slow fire," but it isn't really done that slow... John firing slow fire. Kristof is visible at right.
Kristof firing slow fire standing. Looking down the line as they are loading. John firing slow fire standing.
John firing slow fire standing. John hamming it up for the camera... A look down the line...
John firing slow fire standing. Kristof and Steve pasting targets in the pits. John working really hard as Private Mabry looks at him and says, "What a frickin' slacker, man!"
Steve in a moment of pure joy in the Pits. A look down Pit Row.
